Healthcare Construction Superintendent - Carolinas

The Superintendent leads, directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and/or Femco trade labor on Healthcare construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget of the project.

  • Create schedules and determine sequencing of work. Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain project schedule.
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Consistently look ahead to properly coordinate subcontractor work.
  • Track project progress against schedule to ensure we finish on time.
  • Inspect on-site daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • 3+ years of General Contracting construction experience as a commercial Superintendent for projects of various sizes and complexities across more than one sector such as commercial/industrial, education, multi-family, or healthcare.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Strong written and communication abilities
  • Willingness to progress and learn
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of four years’ related experience training and/or experience in the Healthcare construction field. Knowledge of building construction means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
